Murdoch’s culture warriors are interlinked with the Atlas Network & national conservatism more and less officially. Rita Panahi is pushing Atlas partner affiliate Jacinta N Price with natcon-ish Andrew Hastie as a ticket. This is part of Murdochista’s job. #Auspol open.substack.com/pub/lucyham2...
Andrew Hastie: soldier for an extreme version of governing by Christ
Andrew Hastie is a more extreme Fundamentalist Christian than Scott Morrison. Australians cannot let his attempts to lead the nation go unchallenged. His place on the ARC Board is a warning.

The system is rigged.

Socialism is what they called public power.

Socialism is what they called social security.

Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.

Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.

bit rusty on the "principles & values Jesus lived by" but astounded tt they now include:
☠️ militarily & politically supporting genocide, scholasticide & ecocide
☠️ cruel, pointless, indefinite detention of asylum seekers
☠️ punitive immiseration & perpetuation of Robodebt on people on income support
At the Christian prayer breakfast this week, Attorney-General Michelle Rowland said that the “principles and values that Jesus lived by underpin the role of Australia’s first law officer” and claimed that “our values and faith” guide lawmakers. Read more: rationalist.com.au/australias-a...

Which is why we're going to use police powers to stop a person’s welfare payment before any court process. Just like Jesus would have wanted.

Open the diaries and disrupt this gravy train...
Editorial: Monique Ryan’s bill would stop ministers and senior staff from working as lobbyists for three years after they leave politics. It would reveal who lobbyists meet and force ministers to publish their diaries. The reforms are simple and effective and will not pass. satpa.pe/4mKuCFY

Christopher Pyne was still a cabinet minister when he met with EY to discuss taking a job with the consultancy. There was no confusion about the purpose of the meeting.

I'm boring & repetitive but The Emperor Has No Clothes:

'The CPSU has said Australia’s employment services system are “a complete failure”'; they're not. They generate incomes (profits) for private owners. That's a success. It's both the intent and effect of privatisation.

'And Jesus said unto the righteous:
Bring me your whistleblowers, your #FOI requests, your corruption allegations
....and I will cast them into the pit of hell so the government can avoid all accountability' #auspol

I wonder why so many people are feeling aggrieved and becoming radicalised.
Could it be the breathtaking wholesale betrayal of our values, while lying about it, on a daily basis?

Walmart and McDonald’s are among the top employers of workers who rely on food stamps.

McDonald's CEO raked in $18.2M last year — over 1,000x the company's median employee pay.

Walmart's CEO pocketed $27.4M — 930x the company's median employee pay.

See the problem?

Walmart, McDonalds and Amazon are the largest employers of people who require SNAP assistance.

The CEOs earned between 18-40 million last year, 1000x their median employee income.

They took billions in profits, while their workers relied on SNAP to survive.

Wanna fix fraud and abuse?

Fix that.

Governments are invested in a system that puts profits first, so "they need to shore up prejudices against the poor and those who lack family support."

When Albo said "nobody left behind", he must have meant the for-profit companies, like employment service providers, exploiting people in #poverty.
The federal government spends $4 billion a year maintaining the Job Service Provider system, which is designed to surveil and punish welfare recipients who do not complete its arduous “mutual obligations”.
