#TeslaFSD shows itself to be amazing in some situations with pedestrians who are hidden by cars, trees and bushes, who might not be paying attention as much as they should. Glad I am.

Although, I am not wild about how it starts to move before they have cleared the crosswalk. Too much like a human.

It's brilliant and at the same time, terribly uncomfortable that one person controls so much.

Coming out of Costco, you can see #TeslaFSD sees the stopped traffic and makes the decision to wait for vehicles that are wanting to turn.

Hard to tell if it's the black Nissan turning left in front (probably) or the white Toyota wanting to turn right. But it definitely decides to let them turn.
February 11, 2026 at 3:47 PM
This was a complicated left turn. There is already a car waiting in the turn lane, the truck comes up from behind and also wants to make a left turn. And there is a car coming in the opposite direction.

#TeslaFSD does a good job of navigating through this and even finds an empty space and parks.

@rivianofficial.bsky.social has accomplished a masterclass in branding / product launch with the R2. All the talk of safety and testing in real world conditions will resonate with 80% of potential buyers. Instead of the 20% that are distracted by shiny objects.

It's a little hard to tell in the video, but I almost get rear-ended here (you can see the driver pick something off the floor because he stopped too short).

While I might not have stopped at this yellow, I often wonder if #TeslaFSD would inch forward if it could, to avoid a rear-end collision.
February 9, 2026 at 4:27 PM
One noteworthy aspect of #TeslaFSD is how reliable it is when watching out for pedestrians, especially in slow moving, urban environments. Partly, because it is ridiculously cautious about coming to a full stop. But also waiting to see what nearby pedestrians, who can be unpredictable, will do.

You'll get used to them ... eventually. Seeing them driving themselves on the highway is wild. LOL

Big Oil "purchased solar and EV patents to ensure others couldn’t use them, solicited control of renewable markets and then abandoned them, and funded powerful institutions to promote false solutions, all while using trade groups to downplay the harms of fossil fuels, according to the complaint." 😠

In a landmark antitrust case, Michigan alleges oil companies colluded to “capture and kill” clean-energy and electric-vehicle efforts.

So they cancel the Lightning so they could appease but are pushing ahead with a new technology platform that "... will have a lower cost of ownership than a Tesla Model Y and will offer more space than a Toyota RAV4 ..."

Another HAWK beacon test. This time there is no lead car to clue #TeslaFSD in on when and where to stop. I was curious as I think this issue is finally resolved.
February 5, 2026 at 1:27 PM
I remember the days when #TeslaFSD totally ignored a HAWK signal (High-Intensity Activated Crosswalk).

A HAWK is a specialized type of signal used to help pedestrians cross busy streets safely. Unlike a standard traffic light, a HAWK signal remains dark until a pedestrian pushes the button.

When given the choice of which lane to choose, #TeslaFSD is reliably inconsistent. Since we are making a left turn coming off the I-10 onto 7th Street, you would think we would start in the left turning lane.

Instead, we cross 4 lanes to make the turn. Fortunately, there isn't any traffic.
February 3, 2026 at 2:24 PM
There is a lot going on here, which is increasing my confidence with some of the latest #TeslaFSD updates.

Cars are stopped, switching lanes, etc. With that backdrop, a Waymo is successfully making it's way through it, making a left turn on a busy street.

I really feel for the Waymo passengers.

In this case, #TeslaFSD has about 2 miles to go before we exit onto the 101. But traffic is bunching up in a way that it starts to get over early enough so that there's time to exit.

Occasionally, it does get it right.

While the Mazda Tribute is driving erratically and does come close to the line, I feel this is a bit of an over correction by #TeslaFSD. The Mazda never crosses the line but I guess better safe than sorry.

I do wonder what it would have done if there was a car in the HOV lane next to me.

Tesla's new mission statement:

Amazing Abundance, in a future that’s marked by universal high income, generated primarily by robots like Optimus, driving down the cost of goods and services.

No notes.

I still find it amazing when #TeslaFSD puts it all together. First, it's finally(!) going around the roundabout in my neighborhood correctly.

Second, it sees this pedestrian, not terribly close to the curb, but does put together that they are about to cross the street and waits for them.
January 29, 2026 at 2:54 PM
In the space of 30 seconds, #TeslaFSD switched lanes 3 times. More importantly, for no apparent reason. It wasn’t going around any vehicles or avoiding obstacles.

I didn’t really care; it was late at night, and there weren’t many cars on the road. I was more interested in what it was trying to do.

It's mind boggling that Musk is not paying the price that any other CEO would pay.

"... a lack of innovative new models, Tesla’s relatively high prices compared to competitors, and CEO Elon Musk’s “overreach” into geopolitics combined with his lack of focus on the auto business."
January 28, 2026 at 4:51 PM
It's subtle but you can see #TeslaFSD does cross the yellow line. The reason is unclear. The swaying Fiat in front and then getting into the turn lane may have confused it.

This apparent over-weighting of the actions from the car in front in the logic of the system is a little concerning.
January 28, 2026 at 2:18 PM
It is very cool how #TeslaFSD saw a disabled vehicle up ahead, very close to the HOV lane, and moved over to give them room. Seeing in two directions at the same time is definitely helpful.

It would be nice to know and a needed upgrade to instrumentation to show why FSD is doing what it's doing.
