the fastest way to kill motivation is to make your identity depend on the outcome. it's called ego involvement. when failing becomes failing as a person, your brain starts avoiding the whole thing. not because you don't care, but because you care too much.

you don't need lower standards. you need less self-worth tangled up in your goals. the work gets easier when it's not about proving who you are.

There was a whole scene we mapped out where this kingdom was hoarding literature and Japh sent him in just to inquire and his mere existence causes a chain reaction of panic which spells their own downfall while Raha gets the books to safety.

That AU holds a special place in my heart. I never got to write it out, but Raha was this hated scholar purely because he was cursed with bad luck so wherever he went misfortune followed. So Japh takes him in as her favorite mortal bc ofc she would. Chaos and mischief and all.

Life has been pretty hellish recently involving a sale of the shop (which the new owners are driving me up the wall so I may end up quitting), but I am happy to report as a thank you for my years of work, my uncle paid off the rest of my dental bills so I am now debt free.
