I'm formatting an old external drive before sending it off to the recycling center so I unchecked "Quick Format" and lordie I forgot how long it takes to do a non-quick format.

It's a 230 GB (weird, right?) drive and it's been 45 minutes and about half done.

Found my PS Vita charging cable. Charged it up, it connects to my WiFi no issues, games are still on there. Works perfectly though it remains to be seen how long the battery charge will hold.

Still feels like a win, though.

Apples today are too damned big. Why? You can't eat a whole one & can't save half of one so you end up tossing what you can't finish in the trash.

So after charging up a few of these old devices, I've found the obvious (in retrospect) problem: they can't connect to modern WiFi since the encryption we use today didn't exist when they were built.

I could I guess set up a WEP network isolated from everything else but not sure it's worth it.

Still rummaging through 'the closet' stuff. Found today: Nintendo DS, Playstation PSP, Playstation Vita, an ORIGINAL iPod (5 whole GB of space!) and some weird Nokia PDA thing.
A very old Nokia PDA or media player or something. Once I find a cord for it I'll charge it up to see what it actually does because I can't remember!

This morning our internet was out. Turned out the ISP had done some planned maintenance & a modem reboot fixed things. No biggie.

This afternoon our WiFI went out. Hardwired machines were fine. Coincidence or...? Seems odd, right?

This is Focus Broadband, a local fiber ISP as far as I know.

A thing I don't understand: modern tipping.

In the old days someone would provide you a service & you'd tip according to how well your experience was.

These days you're often asked to tip BEFORE the service is provided.

I get this is mostly due to electronic payment but it still feels backwards.

During the chaos of our move we started using Doordash and Grubhub for the first time and... I cannot understand why these services are so popular. Every order we've gotten has been cold and soggy, and by the time you add the fees you're spending $40-$50 for a fast food burger and fries.

Saw that Troll2 hit Netflix. Figured if there's a sequel maybe the 1st one is OK, so we watched it tonight.

Decided to put Gemini to work helping me restructure some html. It handled the html tags perfectly and efficiently but INSISTED on changing the content. I told it not to do that and it said "Sorry, I was trying to be concise." LOL
