My family revitalizes abandoned homes, maintains them, and rents them fairly. I'm very proud of our work. We also play games of all descriptions, especially on a table. I like math and science most, but am interested in everything. He/Him/His

They say posting your art is the best thing to do here when you first start. My art is a card game called The House of Wisdom. It's about the amazing discoveries of the Islamic Golden Age; things that you know about, but maybe don't know where they came from.
Cards for the game artfully(?) laid out. What the game looks like when set up, minus players' hands. In a box! A crate full of boxes.

Just realized that ICE dresses like a super eclectic XCom 2 team and I'm like, guys, you're not fighting a war to save humanity from aliens that took over the world—oh. You think you are, don't you? Idiots.

Some kid at school called my 9yo "gay" (pejorative) and I had to stop and ask the teacher who was relaying this story what millennium it is. Didn't we stop this years ago?

And he thinks he'll be the Putin. He's not even close to being the Gorbachev.

No, just breach of contract, illegal employment practices, criminal coercion, that kind of thing. Blackmail means the threat is the release of information, not the withholding of income.

Maybe this line works on people who were 12 in 2021 and are only voting for the first time in 2026?

Asked Google for advice on not burning the house plants with our SAD/UV light this winter. The AI very most definitely was giving information specifically for weed.

A different but related graph.
A line graph titled "The history of left-handedness\ Rate of left-handedness among Americans, by year of birth." It shows a low dip from 1880 to 1910 bottoming out at 3%, then a steady climb through 1960 to 12% where it has stayed ever since because that's how many people are actually left-handed when you don't literally beat it out of them.

Looks like Tylenol has a new off-label use.

At his best moments he's a deranged, petty, narcissistic, racist misogynist with no goal in life beyond increasing his own wealth. At his worst he's actively and rapidly transforming the world's third largest country into a violent dictatorship. Even Republicans should want him removed.

Oh, they gonna eat him for breakfast.

Aside: I didn't think he could find a way to make New Yorkers hate him more. In a way, you have to be impressed. Almost.

That's about $300 that he's stolen from every person who voted against him. This is absurdly partisan and ridiculously unconstitutional. Nixon resigned for less and Trump has done so much more. Get rid of him.

During the shutdown, President Trump has frozen or canceled nearly $28 billion for projects in Democratic-led districts — and Trump and his aides have threatened additional cuts. Here's a map of the funding affected, by congressional district. nyti.ms/4hfrbDg

The Trump administration has frozen or canceled nearly $28 billion primarily located in Democratic-led districts, according to an analysis by The New York Times.

...and this explicitly partisan politicking is so far beyond decency and centuries of American governmental norms that this paper must support his resignation or removal. Please? No? Not gonna?

I hate ICE as much as the next guy, but it's a little hypocritical to complain about people throwing teargas at CPD. You should ban it completely in Illinois. And then everyone else can follow. I hate that stuff.

Not so much "admitted" as "successful used as an affirmative defense in a court of law," it's similar, but I really enjoy this detail.

Violence and intimidation... to control the behavior of a civilian population... where have I read about that...?
terrorism • /'terərizəm/

the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.

Wow, it must really suck to have something you consider an integral part of your identity disappeared%

Furthermore, ICE must be abolished.

Chris Christie: “Thie is no longer, the Department of Justice, is no longer the premier prosecuting office in America. What it is now is a capo regime who goes out and executes hits when directed by the Don to do so. That’s what it is.”

The executive is usurping a core Article I function, this should be treated with the same amount of alarm as if he declared he's disbanding Congress, because that's functionally what he's doing/done

Having items that you can order to pick up at the store, but can't just walk in and buy, is weird. I get it, they have it in the back, it's just not on display, but they do sell it. Still feels weird.
