I do sometimes wonder if the creative teams of certain game devlopers are just lying to the CEO's to keep them happy about the AI stuff. Like, "Uh, yes we are totally using AI to make the game. Ha ha 😏" It's a nice thought, but none of these games are out yet so who knows.
