On this day in 1904, Albert Ross Tilley was born in Bowmanville, Ontario.
A plastic surgeon, his work with burned airmen during the Second World War pioneered the use of plastic surgery for the treatment of severe burns. He is a member of the Canadian Aviation Hall of Fame.
