Back at it again! New session was nothing but gestures 😌😓 it was quite the workout but i did see vast improvement in the 4 hours we did it 💪✏️

Finished look for this piece. Doing this head last did bring up some issues. I have a lot of personal critiques about how the face looks but im in love with the rest. Hopeful to do more portrait practice in the future!

Recent work with a model. Really pushing the #foreshortening to the extreme! Had the best/worst seat in the house but it takes suffering to gain strength 💪. Love how it turned out as I'm getting better in my technical skill of #Caravaggio #charcoal #traditionalart #lifedrawing #figuredrawing

Crosshatching study again w/ a very long pose. Spent a lot of time trying to trust the process and doubting myself. Still not a big fan of the technique but it's important to try.

More studies from the other night. Was awesome to have a male model with more defined muscle tone for the 1st time. Was tricky to lay out all the shading and highlights to show the volume and definition, but so satisfying to get the end results. #gesturedrawing #lifedrawing #charcoal #traditionalart

Did some longer studies the other day. Getting used to relying on willow stick charcoal and compressed charcoal only for the first time. Difficult but very fun!
