32.) Something Wild & Wonderful

4.75/5 ⭐️

A quiet, gentle, and contemplative gay contemporary romance set on the PCT. If you love hiking, nature, a perfectly paced romance, and fully fleshed out characters with complex feelings and desires, this book is for you.

My first student art show! Had a great time showing the pieces I made from my intermediate wheel class and being with friends and family. #pottery #ceramics #art
31.) Let Sleeping Foxes Lie

2.5/5 ⭐️

There are promising points in the sequel to Where Foxes Say Goodnight, but the flaws of the first book seem to really stand out more starkly in this one—genre indecision, shallow plot, heavy-handed characterization of the antagonists, etc. #Booksky 📚💙 #gaybooks
Another batch of #pottery out of the kiln! This time a mug, a pitcher, and a bowl. I was hoping for the mug to be a bit pinker and the bowl to be a bit more amber and green/blue, but I’m overall pretty pleased with how they turned out. The bowl’s glazes will need some more troubleshooting, though.
First load of pieces from my intermediate pottery class out of the kiln! Decided to try out the studio’s glazes rather than use my own brush-on glazes for most of the pieces, and the results were interesting! #pottery #ceramics
The pitcher handles have been handled! Now it’s on to the bisque firing when they dry out enough. #pottery #ceramics
An assortment of bisqueware and greenware made in my pottery class! Several vases, a closed form with a pocked texture, and two pitchers (currently without handles). #pottery #ceramics
30.) Where Foxes Say Goodnight

4/5 ⭐️

A cozy paranormal mystery crime romance that was cute but uncertain of what genre it wanted to be. It had ghost grandmas, gay grandsons, and rural estates. The characters were fleshed out but their relationship was insta-love. #Booksky 💙📚 #GayBooks #Gay
Some green and bisqueware from my intermediate #pottery class! We’ve been focusing on rims and feet and planning when pulling walls—knowing what you want the end result to be and setting that shape in the first few pulls. Much more thought than I’ve put into it than before! #ceramics
So happy to be back in the studio now that our move is done. First thing I did after getting settled was sign up for an intermediate class at a local studio. I clearly have my priorities straight. 😂 #pottery #ceramics
29.) Swordcrossed

3.5/5 ⭐️

A queer fantasy romance full of dueling and wool manufacturing. The setting was Bridgertonesque and the worldbuilding resultantly felt like a half-baked veneer of regency tropes and medievalisms at times. At other times, though, it was quite original! #Booksky 📚💙 #fantasy
28.) Young Men in Love: New Romance

4/5 ⭐️

A good sequel to the the first Young Men in Love! This is a queer romance comic anthology that’s all about (you guessed it!) young men in love. Full of pretty art and diverse stories crafted by queer artists and writers. #Booksky 📚💙 #gay #comics #queer
27.) The Scottish Boy

3/5 ⭐️

A historical gay romance between two knights. Sadly, I just didn’t vibe with it. The plot and pacing need a strong editorial hand, the characters don’t grow much by the end, and it still has a lot of holdovers from when it was fanfic before publication. #Booksky 💙📚
26.) Firelight

5/5 ⭐️

The final piece Le Guin wrote for the #Earthsea series, Firelight is a contemplative trip down memory lane for Ged, the series’ protagonist who is now at the end of his life. An appropriate end for Ged and an appropriate end for the series as a whole. #Booksky 📚💙 #fantasy
Last batch of glazed ware out of the kiln before a little hiatus from pottery as we move! Here’s a bowl and soup mug both glazed in Mayco’s Stoned Denim. #pottery #ceramics
Some bowls I got back from the kiln yesterday! I’m especially loving the black and blue one. I was hoping for something a bit more dramatic from Chun Plum on the white one, but live and learn 🤷🏼‍♂️ #pottery #ceramics
I’m not sure of all the specifics since I use a community kiln, but I do know the kiln is fired to cone 6 in a medium-speed firing. I don’t think they use a special cooling schedule at all, but I do know that the glaze bottle says controlled cooling schedules can help with more crystal growth.
A summery butterfly mug! 🦋 White stoneware, an assortment of underglazes, and a zinc-free clear glaze over it all. #ceramics #pottery
A baby planter and mug back from the kiln. The planter was a glaze test with Amaco’s Palladium that a friend gave me for my birthday and the mug an attempt to see how Amaco Obsidian and Mayco Green Tea played together. Not totally loving the mug results but good knowledge to have! #pottery #ceramics
A few bud vases back from the kiln! Pictures truly do not do this glaze, its mirror sheen, and its crystals justice. I know Amaco’s Cosmos glazes can be finicky, but I have never had anything but really cool results once I got the hang of how to use them. #pottery #ceramics #Amaco #budvases
It’s a masterpiece of a series. Hope you enjoy it!
That collection has quite a few good stories in it, these included. Hope you enjoy it!
25.) The Daughter of Odren

5/5 ⭐️

Another short story set in Le Guin’s #Earthsea series, this one a story of betrayal, revenge, and how life can make two similar people adopt vastly different outlooks and ways of being. As always, Le Guin’s female protagonists kick ass. #booksky 📚💙 #fantasy
23.) The Word of Unbinding - 3.5/5 ⭐️
24.) The Rule of Names - 5/5 ⭐️

Two short stories set in Le Guin’s #Earthsea. The first takes place in the distant past and was written before any of the novels, and the second revisits a character from the first novel and has quite a twist ending! #Booksky 📚💙
