This quote from Edward O. Wilson’s 2019 book, “Genesis” in which the author states, "A single psychopathic dictator can destroy an entire nation.", sticks out like a sore thumb given the actions and speech of our current President, Donald J Trump.

The president of the most powerful nation on Earth is so terrified of the tales that an imprisoned sex trafficker can tell that he plies her with a comfort puppy and custom meals and is holding out the prospect of a pardon.

Vance spouted this same propaganda during the VP debates in 2024. Housing access and affordability have been driven by interest rates, construction slowdowns, restrictive zoning and a Covid-era spike in demand. Immigrants — who typically rent rather than buy — aren’t causing house prices to rise.
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

Big news: Indiana Republicans signal they still do not have the votes to re-gerrymander the state, and that the Senate won't convene the Senate after all in December.

Getting 1-2 seats out of Indiana was central to the GOP's redistricting-war math.

Indiana redistricting push likely dead despite White House pressure
It’s a massive blow to the White House’s efforts to shore up a Republican House majority next year.

Dems won Georgia’s Public Service Commission elections by 25-point landslides—their largest for any office since 1998—and improved over 2024 everywhere.
