Beliefs are like shoes. Mine fit me, not you, but that doesn't make your feet bad. Old shoes fall apart. New shoes need breaking in.
Holding a grudge us like holding a handful of dung.

It makes people question your good judgment, wonder why you’d do that, makes you look bad, plus it stinks, drives people away, and it gets in the way doing doing better things.

Best to wash our hands of it.

“In this world, nothing goes the way we expect it. … It’s always going in opposite directions. Either we accept it or we suffer from it. Our reminder is to be more mindful. Do not react to things happening to ourselves.”

Reading comments from southerners on the Fort Worth Buddhists' peace march and it's always like "oh don't walk through the capitol you'll get shot!" My friend, no sufferings befall the man who is not attached to name and form, and who calls nothing his own.

Remember your perceived enemy was once somebody’s cherished baby, perhaps someone’s sister or brother, or mom or dad. Try to see their good qualities, too, not just what you judge to be unacceptable, from your peculiar perspective.
