Agnotology = word of the last decade.

“Proctor found that ignorance spreads when firstly, many people do not understand a concept or fact and secondly, when special interest groups – like a commercial firm or a political group – then work hard to create confusion about an issue.”

Sound familiar?
"Agnotology is the study of the deliberate spread of ignorance or doubt to influence opinion. It helps us understand how people use ignorance to hide or divert attention from societal problems, promote ignorance, and stoke xenophobia and populism."

Our favorite Congressman delivered a tome on the high cost of living. In it, he uses his favorite propaganda technique, “stacking the deck," stressing the positive while avoiding the negative. He gives us a window into his values: tow the party line on taxes and reward the fossil fuel industries.

A new report by @snfagora.bsky.social and @publicagenda.bsky.social shows divisions among Repubs:
- 29% are Trump-first
- 34% are Constitution-first
- 36% are Party-first

And 84% (❗) think democracy is in crisis, and so do 78% of Dems and 50% of Indies.

Rs are *badly* divided. Trumpism is dying.

Musk cut off international aid; that's killed 600k ppl, and will likely kill some 14 million overall. He is a genocidal Nazi mass murderer. It's like asking Hitler what he thinks about philanthropy.
It’s in fact extremely easy to give away money in a way that helps people.

Stuff like this is just what you say when you don’t actually want to help others.
December 1, 2025 at 4:39 PM
All elected reps must be limited to trading whole-market index funds only. And Citizens United has to be negated. Whether or not Wittman and others like him have been self-dealing isn’t the point - it looks like they have, and that’s enough.
Wittman claims to work for regular people in #VA01. NONSENSE. 83% of his campaign funding comes from large donors, while just 2% comes from small, individual donations. He is getting paid to do a job: make your life harder so rich people can be richer. H/T @salaambhattiva.bsky.social for the vid!

#LFC win based on Dom in MF (thank you Jomez!), dropping Salah, a coherent MF showing for passes from CB, and aggression and a press that finally worked! Better for sure. More to be done but very encouraging.

Dropping Salah has, so far, made a world of positive difference. Wirtz looks far more of a threat, and even Kerkez is playing better. Perhaps the biggest difference is Szobozslai moving into MF again, though… #LFC

Truly fantastic 🧵! 10/10
The reality, of course, is that Miller and a significant portion of Trump’s base are the ones who failed to assimilate to America’s post-WWII culture of multi-racial democracy & religious pluralism…and they are now using their power to destroy that once dominant (and still popular) American culture.
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

why isn’t it illegal for presidents to GIVE illegal orders? Oh, b/c a 1974 OLC memo says a sitting POTUS cannot be criminally indicted and SCOTUS granted immunity for all official actions— like giving illegal orders?
