These look tremendous. I have Impetus armies that I use for games against the Iberians, Carthaginians and Republican Romans - or - they are their allies! A great wargaming army to have as it can be used alone or bolted on to other armies.

Good point about the Japanese player. Perhaps bunker games are ripe for a “bot” driven game. We used a really basic one for my SWORD beach games for the German defenders. Much to ponder, but first I must finish my Dux B Romano British elites!

Rare for the Japanese to have a mobile reserve on the Pacific islands after 1943. They realised the massed counter attacks were not working, so they just dug in deeper and held on tightly. Occasionally a rash leader may lead a charge, but it became increasingly rare.

Yes, but over and over? I am sure I will come up with a mix of challenges but it is a fact that clearing Japanese from any defensive position will require at least 2-3 games doing the same thing against an opposition who rarely surrenders let alone breaks.

Be interested what you come up with. After playing a bunker scenario in September, I mulled over the problem of maintaining an interest in games in the Pacific which are just repetitive.
