Grateful to be able to train in a place where others vacation. #Maine

The lake speaks
when we stop needing noise.

This is the place I come
to shed,
to realign.

It says—
you belong here.
Not because you are fast,
but because you are part
of everything that moves gently and breathes deeply.

DNF = Didn’t Need that Facekick.

Got clocked in the head during the swim and pulled from the water. This was my first DNF and it’s part of the sport. Sometimes the data is clear: stop. Triathlon isn’t just about finish lines. It’s about the long game. Experiment. Fail. Learn. Forward focus.

One barn, many hands.

This is the kind of world I want to live in. One where neighbors help neighbors get the hay in the barn, where hands get calloused and hearts get fuller.

I went into the lab to perform an experiment. It was an opportunity to gather data that will shape my next block of training.

I don’t race for a finish line. I race to get data, and to remember who I am when it’s hard - to meet amazing people, to travel the globe, to grow, and to have fun!

”Our intention creates our reality.”- Wayne Dwyer

In those final moments before the swim start, I wasn’t thinking about pace or finish time. I was rehearsing my strategy. Visualizing a tactical calm as I navigated the rocky start.

Grounding myself in one intention—stay embodied.

Reunited with my friend Tara for a rain-soaked hike up Mount Ascutney, where New England spring continues its monsoon mood. Mother Nature brought the drizzle—but also the magic.

Ran 9 miles in a cold, wet rain that asks for grit with every soggy step. Back home, a toasty 182°F sauna—

Just outside the door, a phoebe’s nest is tucked in the corner.
 Five tiny eggs.
 Still. Quiet. Waiting.

A gentle reminder that in spring growth happens - even when it’s seems invisible.

Mastery requires the capacity to see your abilities not as finite, but as infinitely improvable. It demands effort, grit, and deliberate practice.

As a triathlete, training for mastery means constantly seeking growth in each of the three disciplines - and making sure that I’m still having fun!

Strength, endurance, adaptability—these aren’t given; they’re earned by doing the hard things. Facing the wind, pushing through, feeling the cold, and moving forward anyway—that’s where we redefine our limits - And build a body and mind that will carry you forward—not just now, but for a lifetime.

“Into the woods [sauna] I go to lose my mind and find my soul.” - Muir

Sitting in the warmth of the sauna - powered by the sun. The solar panels capture the sunshine, fueling the heat, while the cedar walls around me hold the stored energy of years past—trees that once soaked in the same rays.
