Hello! I’m Dendro. A bat who lives on a boat in New Zealand.

Soon to be Dr Dendro (hopefully), I study the fish of the sea, specifically how genes and hormones make them tick.

Feel free to say hi ^A^

That’s not a downside! You get bigger friends!
What about lesbian werewolves?
I can't imagine how much time it must take to carefully make all those fine brush strokes for the fur. The detail is incredible!

Also I'm pretty sure I got a hug from the bat who created these at EF
10/10 would hug again ^A^
ohh it's #PortfolioDay again!
My name is Decyl and I paint portraits of (anthro) animals, fursuits and pets with oil on canvas. :)

A word from our lord! What amazing revelations about this world will he unveil to us?
Today is monday in japan
Given that the US is a source of most of the fake news this is probably a good thing. EU countries need to take their cyber defences more seriously

We're going a bit batty in celebration of #BatAppreciationMonth. Archibald Thorburn's "British Mammals" (1920-1921) contains some of our favorite bat #SciArt in #BHLib. Check it out thanks to #FieldMuseum

Wrong again! It’s clearly Batober ^A^
This looks so cool! It looks like patterns in fluid flow, with turbulent flow in the top left and laminar in the bottom right. Obviously not the same thing exactly but it’s all governed by the same laws of mathematics!

Here's a small comic from last month featuring Sekdragon and Simon again, despite his size he's still a Sek.

In other words I've been having a huge art block as of recently due to stress caused by university and haven't been able to draw anything at all.. probably won't be for the coming months :(
Five panel comic featuring sek dragon and cat Simon
1: Sek sleeping on the ground with a pillow under him as Simon approaches
2: close up of Simon on his shoulder as sek groggily wakes up confused and looks over at him
3: Sek realises there's a cat on him and his eyes go wide open as Simon licks his paw.
4: Sek jumps up in fright, yelping, as Simon flies off him to the side
5: Sekvil stuck in the ceiling from the jump, asking if anyone can help him, to his dismay the cat meows back.
*hugs*
I look forward to seeing more art whenever you have the time and energy to devote to it

Fun fact! The Biblioteca Joanina is one of the oldest libraries in Portugal; founded in 1717, and is also considered one of the most beautiful in the world.
It also houses two colonies of BATS!
They live behind its shelves since at least the 18th century, to protect the books from insects.

I put out my first sécurité radio call for two unlit rowboats at night full of kids fighting against the current in the port. Crazy levels of child endangerment from the adults onboard!
A good way to fight fascists is to make them look silly, and you’ll never look as silly as someone in full riot gear retreating at the advance of a giant frog

"I Contain Multitudes"

This digitally painted piece honors coyote by tracing its lineage from the first cells of life to the animal trotting our cities and the wilderness today.

The thread gives descriptions of all the extinct organisms shown in this piece (not to scale)
This digitally painted piece honors the survivor spirit of the coyote by tracing its lineage from the first cells of life to the animal trotting our landscapes today. Below the horizon, carefully chosen ancestors mark pivotal moments in adaptation, each contributing to the form and survivor we see today. Above the horizon, Coyote stands alert at the center, framed by both Denver’s skyline and a mountain backdrop, symbols of their ability to thrive in cities as well as wilderness. Embedded in the ground are the skulls and bones of carnivores whose lineages ended long ago, emphasizing Coyote’s persistence in contrast.

We are happy to announce that together we raised 51.081,88€ for the Hamburger Tierschutzverein von 1841 e. V.

These donations will support their continued work of ensuring all rescued animals have a safe and warm space available to them.

We are incredibly thankful for everyone's contribution!

The death of the first amendment and freedom of the press. This kind of thing happens when populist power-hungry politicians are allowed to dominate the narrative with endless drivel and culture-war nonsense. Fight for what is right in politics wherever you are and hold those in power to account

Mario and his family are being punished for his reporting. This cruelty is meant to stifle our free press.
