Spotted a real National Guard patrol in Dupont Circle (left) this morning … then an individual in ill-fitting fatigues and gear (right) shortly thereafter. Is this an actual guardsman? Did not appear to be a Halloween costume. It’s increasingly difficult to tell who’s legit, which seems dangerous.

Presumably, as the sea levels rise, the Sahara expands and the Antarctic desert contracts, there will come a day when they're exactly the same size.

The largest HOT desert is the Sahara, 64% the size of the Antarctic Desert, but expanding every year.

It's 10% larger than it was about 100 years ago, in 1920, both as a result of human-caused climate change & natural cycles like the "Atlantic Multi-decadal Oscillation" (AMO).

Ironically, this desert holds 70% of the planet's freshwater reserves. If all of it melted, it would raise sea level by 60 meters (200 ft), submerging New York, Miami, New Orleans, San Francisco, Boston & Houston.

So, a massive cold desert where Earth keeps most of its freshwater. 😧

If we want a Legislature that protects our kids, our schools, our bodies, and our democracy, then we have to build it, precinct by precinct, county by county, district by district.
