Cut a slit in the plastic backing, below the rear waistband.
It needs to be wide enough to shove the "boosters" inside.

Turn the diaper upside down, and very gentle insert your hand between the plastic backing and fluff. Go all the way to the other side, slowly to avoid damaging the fluff.

Ooohhhh! Very nice! I have made a post on Reddit a long time ago about basically the same technique. These kinds of experiments are what eventually led me to making the diapers I do now. Keep it up!
