I love this bandage from c.1900 featuring illustrations on how to wrap wounds resulting from accidents involving a soldier, a sailor, a miner, and a woman whose clothes have caught fire. This amazing object is part of the Wellcome Collection in London.

Next time you visit York, take note of this carving of a plague doctor outside York Minster Cathedral. It was recently carved out of magnesian limestone to replace figures eroded by time, as part of the ongoing restoration of the East Front. I love this little fellow.

Fidelity to framing the natural world, with American Pre-Raphaelite artist, Fidelia Bridges (1834-1923) #MondayMood.

Bridges worked and exhibited her art in New York for over forty years. As well as embarking on an extended European tour in the 1860s and later, regular visits to the UK.

Heart-shaped pendant with a lock of hair from Marie Antoinette. If this is her hair, it must have been presented before the abortive flight to Varennes in 1791, when Marie's hair allegedly went white overnight.
