I’m thrilled to change the clocks this morning. I’m used to getting up while it’s dark, but this past week of sunrise around 7:30 was definitely affecting me. Even knowing the origin was physiological, I felt the effect emotionally. Walking out the door with light at 6:30 put me in a good mood.
Listening to Europe ‘72, and thinking about how China>Rider taught me the idea that music could start one way and end a different way.

This afternoon, I went to my bank to sign papers for a loan. My loan officer was dressed as a witch. “I’m not usually dressed like this,” she told me.

Happy Halloween, everyone!
31 years ago, I saw Phish play the White Album. These days, we take for granted the album-cover set, but in that moment it was a bit of a big deal.
A year later, I’d be in Chicago for Quadrophenia. The year after that, I was seeing moe.

Sunrise might be late, but it delivers.
Listening to 10/30/68, originally billed as Jerry Garcia and Friends and later known as Mickey and the Hartbeats. I’ve listened to this show many times and it took until this morning to think about how wild it is that they played an Other One and a Lovelight without Bobby or Pigpen.

Pretty essential when sunrise is at 7:24
I’m having a legit Mandela Moment. I recall moe. playing an extra-long show Fall 1998 because of the clock change, and I swear I’ve listened to it, but the recording is not Internet Archive and there’s no record on PhantasyTour. 10/26/98. Did I imagine it?
“The ad was for $75,000.” What is this supposed to mean?
I wish I had made it to 3:30 today. 2:14 today. Second cup of coffee in hand as I prepare for a full day of middle school students. The hard thing will be not going to bed at 7 tonight.
I’m reminded of the final season of The Righteous Gemstones when Baby Billy makes the hologram of Aimee-Leigh
Big fan of the Grateful Dead here, well-versed in all of their iconography: the stealie, the dancing bears, the dancing skeletons, Uncle Sam, violin playing skeleton, jester skeleton, and this isn’t one of ours. I’ve also been known to drink more than my share and I never awoke with a Nazi tattoo.
This is my wake-up time these days. I get a lot done in the morning, but I am dead by 8 so it’s a trade off for sure.
You guys are killing me 😂
You were lucky to find one. Most creemee stands are closed for the season.
So, that bearded dude killed it tonight on Jeopardy. But, I’m watching Wheel of Fortune, and I think the challenge of the show is that they won’t show the puzzle and the wheel at the same time.
Please add this to one of the block lists that has allowed me to live a life free of all things awful
I saw this run at MSG and I think this might have been the best of them. I was pretty young, and seeing six shows in seven nights (six seven!) was a big deal for me.
31 years ago, I saw an interesting show that included the final Midnight Hour and the only Rainy Day Woman, with Dylan as a guest. I don’t listen to a lot of ‘94, by which I mean pretty much never, but this seems like a good way to start the day.

Edibles, even in a small dose, make me paranoid in a way that smoking does not. If I feel like worrying about how I’m not saving enough money for retirement, I can pop an edible cue the anxiety.
Is this a monument for ants?

If this was my coffee table I’d be tripping over it like Dick Van Dyke.
