People begrudgingly turned a blind eye to a pipeline because there were meaningful climate actions associated with it. (tmx) Now that most of those have been betrayed, you can't expect support for yet another pipeline. Fool me once and all that.

There is a term in the military called the “asymmetry of commitment.” Neutrality in asymmetric conflict = structural advantage to the aggressor. This is how & why fascism is winning. This is how and why we are losing on disease control & climate change. It's not because of the "bad guys".

I'm actually not dreaming nostalgically about the past, I'm looking squarely at a bleak future for my children hoping beyond hope that someone in a position to action something meaningful for their future will do something. Thanks for being clear (now) that it isn't the liberals.

Remember the first choice of the Alberta separatists, their base & the industry that supports them was to destroy Canada. They spent vast sums of taxpayer money to accomplish this goal & even enlisted the fascists in the US. For the elbow dancer to reward them is obscene. Spin that however you want.
