I found it a little mystifying that there's no documentary evidence as late as 1931 to pinpoint when the furnace ceased operation. You'd think there would be state commerce dept records, newspaper articles, something.

The whole attraction of bsky is that it's not polluted with commercial influencer-wannabes. I imagine you could buy 100.000 follower bots but that won't attract real-human followers. This is not a sustainable career direction here, try xitter or meta. Good luck

If I tell you something you already know, then that's not very informative. So perhaps information should be measured in terms of unexpectedness, or surprise?

"A Study in Scarlet" (Doyle, 1887) takes a truly unexpected turn in the middle - simultaneously in style, subject and atmosphere. It's almost like a collab between two different authors. Doomed to obscurity by its treatment of the LDS church, of course.
