Running a 170 year old university is more important than acquiescing to your Keffiyah Hipster complaints. 🙄

(KHipsters are probably rabid antisemites, too.)
The kids who are whining to the Michigan State University about DEI stuff being reduced or removed don't seem to care that the school will lose essential federal funds if they don't kowtow to President Marmalade.

That may be by agreement—US is 50, too.
I'm too young for a pneumonia shot (since I apparently grew out of my asthma) and RSV isn't permitted 'til 75, so my dad will qualify in January.
'member how I said I'd pay for my covid shot if the state didn't step in? (Which the governor did, 'cause she's AWESOME!)

If they hadn't, it would've cost me $194.02.

(CC @raincitycor.bsky.social, as promised. That's $272.16 CAD, btw.)

A federal judge in Rhode Island just had to step in and stop Trump’s government from cutting off food aid to millions of Americans literally issuing an emergency order to keep people fed.

But here’s the catch: no one knows how — or when — this ruling will actually be enforced.
WLNS was reporting at noon that the House already shot it down.

Five business days from the date of the article is Thursday the 6th. Five calendar days is Tuesday the 4th.

Somebody's wires got crossed!
Huge thanks to @misendems.bsky.social for taking action to protect the millions of Michigan families who rely on food assistance. Leadership is about stepping up when people need it most, and that’s exactly what they’re doing. www.detroitnews.com/story/news/p...
Michigan leaders take emergency steps ahead of food aid cutoff
About 1.4 million Michigan residents are expected to lose their food assistance on Saturday because of the federal government shutdown.

Michigan’s GOP reps are proudly marching behind Trump’s Little Johnson — and the punchline is brutal: it’s their own voters who’ll be left hungry and without healthcare from the fallout.

Thank you Satanists for helping out fellow Americans.

Your daily reminder that Trump absolutely can fund SNAP through contingency funds.

He absolutely can prevent 42 million Americans — including 20 million children — from going hungry next month.

He is choosing not to. Don’t let him lie his way out of this.

More than 1.4 million Michiganders risk losing food assistance because of the shutdown. It’s cruel and illegal to deny families food. I’ll keep standing up to the Trump Administration’s reckless disregard for people’s lives.
I forgot Toronto has Scherzer, who used play for Detroit! 💙
I'd probably "proximity cheer" just about any team except the Guardians, who have spent WAY too many seasons beating the heck out of the Tigers. 😂 #GoJays

The Trump administration spending ledger:

✅ $40 billion for Argentina
✅ $230 million for Trump's grievances against the Department of Justice
✅ $300 million for a golden ballroom
❌ $0 to save 42 million Americans from hunger
❌ $0 to stop your health care costs from going up 30%

Rep. John James, the self-anointed frontrunner for Michigan’s GOP gubernatorial nomination, is dodging yet another debate — this time the Michigan GOP’s first major faceoff in Sparta, MI. James, once again, is leaning on his slick campaign ads instead of facing questions from voters or rivals.

The Toronto Blue Jays are one game away from winning the World Series and giving Trump another stroke.

Here's your morning Bite of Law: in Michigan, it's illegal to pursue a wounded animal onto private property (including the right-of-way) without the owner's permission.

(This bite was brought to you by, "Wow, Those Three are Trespassing All Over the Place!")
