This is a really interesting thought. The early punks HATED the Beatles, and anything related to Hippie culture. By my time, the mid-late 80s, Classic Rock was the national high school soundtrack but my fellow “punks” and I found it lame. They never played the Beatles on Classic Rock stations. Hmm…
As someone who is this guy's age I can tell you 100% that if you were into Pixies, Nirvana, 120 Minutes stuff, etc. but didn't like the Beatles you had to have worked hard to contort yourself into that special little box. Your enemy, if you absolutely needed one, was hair metal. GTFO here with this.

My NYC take has always been the city should require the owners of all those permanently empty storefronts to let young people live in them for nominal rent. America’s weird kids would all move to NYC and revitalize this place, refresh the art scene, be safe from homophobic families, etc.
