I was looking at a radar/storm map earlier today, and there was a marker for a possible tornado in the northern Phoenix area. That might have done it.

Some people have genuine trouble with needles. I used to do a lot of blood donations. One of the things that gets you asked back is NOT being yet another XXL dude that passes out from needle sticks.
I am told it's fairly common, and 110 lb nurses don't need to deal with that.

I keep waiting for someone to dust off some of the odder old pulp SF, like CL Moore. C'mon, with just a little work, a Northwest Smith film trilogy is right there.

My friend Sascha is a professional musician and he's lost a viola bow on the way to Heathrow. Please signal boost to help him get it back.
Lost viola bow on the way from Honor Oak Station to Heathrow Terminal 2. The bow slid from its bow case somewhere along the way, possibly on the train. TFL contacted already.
It weighs 68.2 grams and has got a stamped DODD next to the frog. If any info on this, please pm me.

There is ongoing scam happening posing as a black trans safe house in Texas. The fake org is "Black Trans Texas Connection."

There is an IG page
@blacktransscam

that verifies its nonexistence by checking w local orgs in its supposed operating city of Houston. 👇

Just needs a straw skimmer and some smoked spectacles.

They should have called it Short Eyes.

A few years ago, I woke up with a riff stuck in my head that I couldn't identify. Took a while for my brain to catch up enough to recognize the opening of Television's "Little Johnny Jewel". Drove me nuts for hours.

They are certainly a part of mine.

I am not sure what sort of occasions this would be suited for, but I am fairly sure that the amount of scarring this would show is poorly suited to them.

I recently worked through all the California-required disclosures for selling my late parents' house, and one of the questions was about any death in the house in the last 3 years. Some cultures around here can take it very seriously, as I expect you know.

Yeah, it was something different when I read it at 14 or so, but I had... questions. Later, I realized that the same era had produced the Aquarian Occult Revival, Scientology, and the Human Potential Movement, and in that light, this book is at least a relatively harmless product of the time.

I bet Jeffries has such a stiffly-worded note ready to go about this.

I'm glad I got to experience them when I could still fit into Size L, before all the exercise and such made it impossible. I still miss the Polk St. Headlines store.

Remember, it's pronounced "Bigbooté":
The baddies from "Buckaroo Banzai," including Lloyd as John Bigbooté.

The the men of the modern right seem to spend the years between 18 and 35 looking like their balls never dropped, and then rapidly devolving to look like 60-year-old rummies by 40.

I'll try to not read it for four minutes and thirty-three seconds.

Been reading him since the late 70s when I picked up The Jewel in the Skull.
Even if he doesn't get name-checked a lot, I see his influence in a lot of work from the last 30 years, from novels to anime, RPGs, and illustration. It's like his ideas are now so ubiquitous as to be invisible.

Great sound. It always strikes me how much lower wolves howl compared to coyotes.

Take comfort in Wilde's maxim, perhaps: "There is only one thing worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about."

Yep. When I was growing up, we lived in London fairly often, for anywhere from a year to a few months, and I can remember turning on the TV in the 70s and seeing these dudes. That was pretty disturbing.
And then there's the old Robertson's Marmalade labels and their mascot...

Someone's going to show a cheeseburger using one of these instead of a processed "cheese" slice. It may have already happened.
