That bird will dedicate its life to finding the real killer of that fish in its talon.
All you need to know is that there is no investigation, no indictment, no need to plead in court except he criticized Baby Don and incurred his wrath. Using the State to 'get back' at his enemies, even the ones that were former friends. The ultimate Weaponizing of the Federal Government.
And yeah, I still get pissed off just thinking about it. Never mind I haven’t played volleyball in at least 35 years.
In college (1982) I let a couple guys on my dorm hall borrow my volleyball. I never saw it again. No replacement. No apology. Just gone. Lost or stolen. I suspect stolen and kept. I’m still owed a volleyball.
What meaningless thing/experience are you still mad about? Like it should not matter at all, DOES not matter at all. But you’re still MAD.

And how long has it been?

I bought some bagels at Hy-Vee four years ago. So bad. Too big. Hard. Bland. WORTHLESS.

I’m still FURIOUS.
He’s a piece of sh^t. Move the World Cup out of the USA until he’s dead and gone.

Oooo! How soon can we get to that last bit?!
It's actually relatively easy. Even with kids.
It was. I learned a lot about him and his background and about Israel. I may not take that job today but at the time I needed that job and there’s no shame in it whatsoever to me.
15 innings is anything but ‘instant’😂
You asked what I do. I’m pretty sure I said they weren’t equal. But- did he say nice things about the guy? Y’know what, never mind. I’m on record as being opposed to murderous dictators. The rest of this is just not getting thru so never mind. Murder is bad. Don’t do business with murderers.
The answer here is clearly ‘No!’ It may be the right answer. Would I take MBS’ money? No. But I did narrate Netanyahu’s autobiography. It was a year or 2 before the Oct 7 and ensuing nightmare. A job I thought would be interesting Would I narrate Trump’s? I’d have to say I’m not your guy for that.
Suggesting that I’m willfully uninformed, implying I’m making an effort to be an idiot or excuse murderous regimes. Maybe I’m too sensitive for social media. You take it all in stride. Again, I read the article and thought ‘Is there merit in bringing the outside into their lives even at that cost?’
In general I agree with you. I would say no. But the comic who wrote the article had a different take.
I’m an actor/narrator. I spent years temping in law firms who defended big tobacco, etc or bartending parties for whoever the caterer took a job from. Their money supported my artistic choices
To gauge the response here, that is clearly the case. I was just entertaining the possibility that the article’s author had some merit to his pov. Bluesky has said unequivocally no.
I’m just asking- if you can maybe be doing something good by taking bad money, should you do it? It’s not in all instances a clear cut answer. MBS is bad $ in the extreme. I’m with you. But to a much lesser extent everyone I know has taken money for jobs paid for by people doing shit they oppose
If you think Bluesky is different than Xitter, you’re wrong.
That’s a bullshit thing to say. I’m responding to what the author of the article has to say. I shouldn’t even engage with you because I haven’t done the requisite research. I may even agree with you if I knew all the details but you just insult me instead. But you’re good at that. So never mind
You’re making up a scenario. I’m responding to the author of the article. He thinks he’s teaching citizens who welcome outside voices into their lives. Young people hungry for change. Your scenario is not that.
I don’t think that’s an accurate reflection of the Riyadh situation. They don’t have to submit their material in advance. The real scenario according to the article’s author, is the chance to reach regular citizens thirsty for an outside voice. If that’s the scenario, I seriously consider it.
That’s your version. I’m thinking of something else.
But they’re connected. Do I reach an audience that wants The outside world at risk of appearing to supporting a horror show? Or do you think they all strictly did it for the $? The author seems to not have. Or am I misunderstanding the situation?
I wouldn’t be working for Trump. I’d be entertaining an audience. It’s a tough question. Who am serving? Am I able to reach people who are hungry for it? Can I take that $ and still oppose the regime? For comedians who deal in topical material it’s a legit question. Obv, I also see the other side
I found the article author’s point valid and worth considering. I hope people don’t refuse to engage with me because I live in a country run by Trump’s regime. Do all comics do it ‘only for the $’ or do they consider the audience they may be reaching and think ‘yeah - I want to reach those people’?
But they cut all the money spent on our own citizens? Fuck these guys. I hope they rot in hell and I hope it starts soon
