Been away for the weekend, but here's some finished shader work. Its a mixture of overlaying shifting uvs, some sobel and kuwuhara, and then some clamped interpolated textures.

Having the refs mic'ed up has confirmed the thing I always knew. That the only phrase they say with any sense of authority is 'mum says you have to give me a turn with the controller'.

I'll be honest, San Pellegrino, if I open up someone's fridge and see that then I'd be 100% certain they're a serial killer.

I mostly work in realtime animation so up to this point I've mainly been making textures smaller to process faster. Besides a couple of months in my MA I've never really gone into shader maths before, so its cool to have a bit of a go.

On my lunch hour I had another little go at Cotton Wool, density + displacement maps, and a bit of maths etc. Bit too silky, not quite enough disruption as yet.

Finally getting down to actually understanding the maths behind height maps. Avoided it for years but the time has come. Also, trying to rid myself of all adobe poison so learning Da Vinci Resolve workarounds.
Here's a bad thing I made as a test because the colour spaces are different. ENJOY.

Nearly twenty years since this record came out. I remember asking for it in Concepts record shop in Durham, only for the man to sigh, open the CD player and take it out. They only had one copy and he's been playing it on repeat.

Let's be clear. This is nothing. Demonstrations with thousands or even tens of thousands are frequently entirely ignored. That the BBC chooses to put this on the front page of their news website is a political decision as to what positions to push.
