Interesting that GM is supporting iPhone Car Key, but is dumping CarPlay.

Long as I use an iPhone, I won't buy a car that doesn't support CarPlay. iPhone Key support is nowhere near as important.

Disable Liquid Glass in macOS Tahoe:

defaults write -g com.apple.SwiftUI.DisableSolarium -bool YES

- Enter string in Terminal
- Logout, then back in, or reboot

Change YES to NO to reenable.

I’m guessing that we’re going to see a new device, either this week or next, when Apple watches a bunch of new products. I think it will have the word “home“ in it, because Apple is planning to dig deeper into home automation. The current device can work as a home hub and support thread.

Apple TV+ rebrand to Apple TV has all the confusion of HBO rebrand.

Apple web site still forks between hardware side (/appletv, which redirects to apple-tv-4k) and shows/movies side (/appletvplus, redirects to apple-tv-plus)

Curious how Apple will officially distinguish between the two.

So @samhenrigold.hachyderm.io.ap.brid.gy built a free (and silly) MacBook "lid angle sensor" utility.

It makes a creaking sound when you adjust the lid. And shows you the current angle of your lid.

Feels like the US is betting against this trend.

It was about 30 years ago I bought my Power Mac 7500, with Symantec C++ and the “Mac Programming Primer” and “Learn C on the Mac.”

Even though they’re horribly outdated, I like to revisit them out of nostalgia, and a reminder that even technical books can be clear, concise and fun! Thank you. 🙂
