Another #DoctorWho fave is when it goes folk horror for the first, but not last, time. THE DÆMONS is about an ancient evil unleashed during an archeological dig, the village that's affected by it, and The Doctor's attempt to stop it.

I was always a fan of Scorsese's only horror movie, that other surreal DiCaprio film in 2010 about spousal grief. I also felt a section was him purging SCHINDLER'S LIST from his system (he traded it to Spielberg for CAPE FEAR).

MR. SCORSESE was a rawer look at his life than I thought it'd be. Not scandalously so, though.

It was also an amazingly thorough look at his filmography... except with HUGO. I'm glad people are coming around to CASINO, but HUGO needs more eyes since it introduces kids to the history of cinema.

Tom Cruise's great as Lestat because he wanted to impress Anne Rice, who wasn't a fan. With Lestat going full-bi in the second novel, Cruise leaving wasn't a surprise.

The script's wonky because Neil Jordan did a wholesale, uncredited rewrite. Brad Pitt's weird in it because he hated being Louis.
