I have been thinking a lot about how our LRT network could have looked if we embraced our high-floor regional network instead of building a more locally oriented system

It lead me to this map, which I think would have been an incredible and fast network

Only change I would make: they truck didn't just "turn against a traffic light", left turns there are NEVER allowed regardless of the colour of the light

Never thought I would be so excited over an enhanced cleaning program passing at council, but I cheered when they said the resulting tax increase would be below 7%

This is an incredibly positive story re: housing density in Banff. Personally I don’t think we could ever build enough “gentle density” to make Banff affordable, but still a positive step youtu.be/CstPL88iEnw?...

This video perfectly encapsulates something I’ve felt about Minecraft for a long time

I want an environment that reacts to my actions, that is self sustaining and evolving, that feels alive even when I am not there

Taxes are so cool, I would love the subscription fee to my city to be higher in exchange for not worrying about being killed by a car on the well-maintained sidewalk that leads to my frequent bus stop

Paquette is becoming one of my fav councillors, very funny that he missed the City Hall school class tho

This pedway convo is so confusing lmao, I like that even some of the councillors are getting mixed up on what a yes/no vote means here

the best part about buying 25 buses now I am free to push for 300 over 4 years in the next 4-year instead of a measly 275 😈😈😈

i’ll never understand why public transit haters discourage use of public transit and want to defund it. if less people use cars the roads will have less traffic and you’ll get to where you want faster with your own car. stupid people

New post: a week of hectic back and forth with fire officials and city council over Berkeley street festivals brings out into the open a conflict in city halls across USA. Fire depts opposition to traffic calming and safety measures. Is there a solution?

Street safety advocates are butting heads with fire officials. Swift fire response does not have to come at the cost of lives on the roadway.

The BRT town hall on Alberta Ave was really really good!

There were very few people who did not want the BRT, and a lot of discussions about which route was best. I definitely think one is worse and some are better, but it was so much more positive and constructive than other engagements

I am of the opinion that if we aren't sending the Metro Line out to Terwillegar, we should atleast make its southern leg a tram through a developed South Campus Farms

Don't allow the rich to self-segregate
These maps of major metropolitan areas show striking differences in tax bases in areas close to one another www.taxbasefragmentation.net/home :

—Coastal vs inland Miami
—Inglewood vs El Segundo
—East Palo Alto vs everything around it
