Avowed does a few things super well (environmental reactivity in combat or traversal is awesome for example), but adding an in-dialogue option for lore is one of the best. It really helps to digest worlds with tons of background and event complexity.
Wish more games did this.

Early days but so far I'm having a great time with Avowed.
Very different from both Pillars games of course, but it's done in a way that fully respects lore & events, plus it's got great combat, knows how to handle unique gear & I've already done quite a few interesting quests. Good stuff!

Last game in my Xbox run is Avowed. Curious to try it after hearing so many different things.
I love the world, story, tone & depth in POE1. Kinda feels like Avowed runs away from a lot of that, but I like the change to 1st person and combat seems competent so I guess we'll see.

I haven't been a FPS guy in a long time, but the slower-paced, shield-based gameplay in The Dark Ages appealed to me a *lot* more than the jumpy, twitchy style of Eternal. Most of what it does is great. To my shock I even got invested in the story (!)

I haven't been a FPS guy in a long time, but the slower-paced, shield-based gameplay in The Dark Ages appealed to me a *lot* more than the jumpy, twitchy style of Eternal. Most of what it does is great. To my shock I even got invested in the story (!)

Just finished watching the #Xbox partner showcase and this is everything that caught my eye.
A bunch of brand new reveals, quite a bit of variety, tons of Game Pass announcements and even a couple shadow drops.

One of my biggest surprises in 2025. I was expecting a cute game but not this contemplative, strangely emotional journey with visual & environmental peak. Feels like a metaphor for the human experience but maybe I'm too dumb to see a deeper layer.

I wasn't (and I'm still not) exactly hyped for this game since I'm not really sure what I'm getting with it. But it's a short playthrough, and the art style looks so striking that I just have to try it for myself.
