YES this map doesn’t seem wrong but it also shows how “Midwest” and “Northeast” aren’t always that meaningful. (I think Pittsburgh is combo Rust Belt and Appalachia, fwiw.)
Im not but thought you might like hearing that my youngest son plays rugby now! I dream of getting him to Capetown for a match 🙂

Loved reading John Tottenham's novel SERVICE. Does it want a GenX revival? Do I want one of those? Anyway, here’s some dialogue from HENRY FOOL that will tell you what the book is about.

Momma is a great band, not least bc they wear their love of 90s music on their sleeves
Yes! He loves them. Perfect scale-tipper.
Minnesota vs Oklahoma City! I don't think there's an obvious hero or villain or anything. Two small-market teams. Lots of fun players. Tough decision!
His panel was amazing
My favorite scene from one of my all-time favorite films. I talked about it in a toast at my brother's wedding. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3z9B...

Great movie. Important to mention that the woman in blue in that clip is a medical doctor.
Learned about this film from a Best of 2024 list. It's great!! Needle drop on Unsatisfied as the credits roll was delightful.
Totally agree he was awesome.
Great movie. I like that they give him the ability to immediately master any skill he sees on television with no explanation at all.
My AI journey so far has been all about learning the hard way.
I had an AI freakout last semester so looked at AI-generated text in class. We came up with a description of what we want from "real" critical writing. Hoping to use that description to positively encourage students to do that sort of work in the future. No clue if it will work, tho.
Poe would be so happy, except that he liked short stories because they were better at scaring the shit out of you and reminding you of the festering rot that lies at the core of your soul www.nytimes.com/2024/12/16/o...
