Third vote for the right boots from me! They are, indeed, the right boots.

I’m just unboxing Emberheart by Mindclash Games - art by Andrew Bosley - and I have to say this “Grunt” looks very familiar. Ring any bells, @watchitplayed.tv?

Only a week now until these are out. I grew up on Cameron’s movies, while Nolan’s been the defining director of my movie-journo life, so this is quite the publishing double bill for me!

Awesome news - congrats Ross!

Wasn’t this almost the plot of the 2000AD series Flesh, which posited that dinosaurs went extinct as a result of time-travelling dino-meat hunting/farming?

It’s actually a really warm movie, full of heart, but for many distributors it was sadly hard to see past the ‘splatty’ surface detail. Great to hear you enjoyed it too!

Also: I can’t believe I forgot Smallworld!

Yeah, it was love at first play for me (at the end of the last day of my first ever Essen). I ordered a copy within minutes of walking away from the table.

Tyrants of the Underdark is a family favourite in these parts (Area Control + Deckbuilding), but I’m also a fan of Brian Boru (Area Control + Trick-taking). Also, a good small-box indie AC game is Summoner’s Isle.

My thoughts on House of Guinness…
empiremagazine.bsky.social
"At first sip, you might take House of Guinness for a 19th century spin on Succession."

Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight is back with new period piece #HouseOfGuinness — streaming now on Netflix UK.

BEHOLD!

My first ever choose-your-own-adventure game!

"i will strangle a horse" - over seven and a half thousand words of absolute nonsense, as you help Martin Jenkins on his first day at The Farm.

Totally free to play! I mean, you can pay, but you can also not!

I really enjoyed Ayar - somehow manages to be both simple and complex at the same time.
