being conservative is basically "I got what I have through hard work and being a good person, therefore *they* have not worked hard, are not good people, and have not earned *it*." That's a much easier sell than "we're all in this together, and the common good requires sacrifices from some".

Nothing will happen. Most of what they're doing will be so baked in by then, anyone threatening to rip it up will be seen as an extremist. The most mé féin country that has ever existed wouldn't have it any other way and the media - all of it - will be at the forefront of making sure of that.
