I’m so excited to take my teenage son to this next weekend. I often think about my childhood in Florida, & how happy I am to be raising my son in a city & state that’s on the right side of history. (Still have great affection for FL, but it needs to get out of its abusive relationship with the GOP.)

To say that America (& much of the world) is in the midst of a gambling epidemic doesn’t do it justice. Crypto is the purest form of this mania, but it’s everywhere in modern life, from DraftKings to Robinhood to Powerball. The damage it’s doing is immeasurable.

Serious question for writers seeking a rep these days: is it normal to get a relatively speedy round of replies from ~25% of queries, & then nothing for weeks? My theory is that the quick rejects were based on the concept/synopsis not clicking, & remaining agents are delving deeper. But who knows?

I stopped doing my core exercise routine in favor of running & biking a few years back, & I do believe I've maintained my (semi-decent) level of overall health. But I just started doing the core routine again, and holy shit am I weak. I obviously need to rotate through all 3, even tho core kills me.

I have to keep reminding myself, for my son's sake, that this too shall pass. Yes, we're living through the worst period of U.S. governance since the Great Depression, but I imagine my son at my age, looking back at these 2 years of one-party fascist dictatorship, & telling his kids "never again."
