#PopCultureJeopardy cut out the part of @anyacrittenton.bsky.social’s speech where they explicitly cited the need for audiences to see trans people thriving on television.
Disappointed for sure, especially since the producers were constantly saying how much they loved our team for the “diversity”

I wish I could remember what I said exactly, but it was generally about my gratitude being a finalist as a trans nonbinary person in a world that is constantly trying to keep us down, and that seeing trans joy and success is just as important, if not more so, than our struggles.

the thing about chasing what you think is public opinion is that if and when things turn you will have made a bunch of statements and taken a bunch of stances that you’ll have to disavow. probably a better strategy just to say what you actually believe and stand by it. anyway, this guy sucks.

I love that it’s always about trans women in women’s sports, but for SOME reason no one gives a fuck about trans men in men’s sports. Obviously it’s misogyny and the idea that a trans man could NEVER beat a cis man, even though it HAS happened.
