i Went to the grocery store to just get a single rye bread to make kvas but left with a lot of russian deli items (carrot and walnut wrapped in eggplant as well as apple/picked herring dip?)

East European grocery store near us has a deli. i think my favorite thing in the world is “herring under a fur coat” (left)- a layered salad with apples, potato’s, pickled herring, carrot, and beet. I adore it like crazy

Made Pad Thai with my wife and the mystical wok I found on the street! As a couple who think following recipes are for dorks, we actually followed this to the letter. And that's super critical, do not vibe-cook your way on this one.

One side-effect of my brief twitch career is that I'm a bllionty times more comfortable pair programming through problems at work - I've been trained to have zero shame of looking stupid or making code mistakes, so we get so much more done when working through bugs or brainstorms as a result
