My goal for the year is to read 50 books! I'll likely go over this, but I'll be prioritizing my ARCs and physical copies of books, and I typically take more time to read both. I also want to engage other hobbies.

That’s…deeply disturbing. And I’m kink shaming

The president of the United States posted a video of him defecating on the American people. Many in my profession normalized it. This is a big reason why we are where we are.
I always have a bunch of secret reading goals that I keep in mind but never write down because I don't want to feel beholden to them. One of them was for me to read more outside of my comfort zone, and I've read more horror and sci-fi than ever (not a lot, but still). I'm proud!

I think they should technically still appear on the #Booksky feed if they subscribe to it? Which a lot of them do, I think. Unless I'm misremembering how feeds function here. But I definitely don't see as many author posts as I do reader posts, so maybe tagging would help a lot.

I'm…so fatigued by the fact that I gotta sit here and update this thread because I've been too fatigued to do it real-time. Someone remind me not to put this off again, omg.

Seasonal depression is coming for a lot of people and I hope folks have their village because it matters absolutely to have one

Sleeping is my favorite thing to do

I wish I got paid to sleep

It feels so good
I will say I def adhere to the evolving list of no-no authors. I’d never want to platform let alone give money to someone who is bigoted or otherwise causing harm. I also think one of the best parts of booksky is the fact that everyone is reading vastly across different genres so I’m exposed to more
I’m actually very new to reading sci-fi, but I recently read Exiles by Mason Coile! I also really loved I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman.
Which is nuts because they get zero ad revenue for the engagement bait 😅
I swear every hour there’s something going on on Threads 🫩😮‍💨
It makes me sad how many authors/bookish people have abandoned Bluesky because it’s lowkey lit here when it comes to sticking to the book recs/book content. No drama, no sub posts, no attacking authors, readers, event organizers. Idk, it’s kind of my favorite platform to share books?

Ooh, I have that one! I was going to do the audio this month but folks said it needs to be read physically for the pictures.

It's cool and sexy to read books and hate fascism.
