The Hockey Sweater is one of the most famous books in Canadian history.
The story of a boy who received the wrong hockey sweater from Eatons has been featured on our currency and turned into an iconic NFB short.
This is the story of that book.

On this day in 1959, a slapshot by Andy Bathgate broke Jacques Plante's nose. When Plante returned to the game, he was wearing a mask. Plante then went on an 18 game winning streak and the mask was here to stay.
Clint Benedict was the first NHL goalie to wear a mask back in 1930.

On this day in 1887, Newsy Lalonde was born in Cornwall, Ontario.
A member of both the Hockey and Lacrosse Hall of Fames, he led the Montreal Canadiens to their first Stanley Cup in 1916. In 207 NHL/NHA games, he had 288 goals and 350 points. He died in 1970.
