They had retreated under their aluminum blankets prior to the Waymo turning the corner. Covered not for warmth but obfuscation, the group's leader snuck her phone's camera lens through a small hole. The taillights disappeared. "They've been scanning at us for days now. I don't know if this works."

Now that investment into AI and data centers seems to be reaching a point of slowing some, next will inevitably be the need to wring every last shred from their investment by every means possible. Let them have it. All the slopcode, PowerPoints, spreadsheets, and long-winded emails you can muster.

1. because employers usually shoulder the majority of insurance costs, they have been using this as an excuse to NOT pay you what you're worth since they're acting as a malignant buffer.
