This has nothing to do with snap or food banks. It's about protecting the vendors from ICE.
The agua fresca at the hot dog stand today is Peaches and Cream.
I can still smell those cupcake dolls.
I know exactly what you are talking about but I haven't read any!
If they are thicker like manga that works. A single issue would get too bendy.
I really need to give a shout out to @dorothyproject.bsky.social for satisfying this need.
There are many nice non-fiction series that are small, like the "Very short introduction" series. Less in fiction.
After some experiment, it looks like this is the biggest book that will fit. It's 4.75 x 7 inches. New Passengers by Tine Høeg, tr. Misha Hoekstra — Lolli share.google/It3KITNKztAa...
I need more physically small books that can fit in my bag.

the cow's tools will never be used to dismantle the cow's barn
HEB also has a meal deal right now where for $12 you get a large frozen lasagna, salad, green beans, pepsi, and 6 breadsticks.
For years, I have wanted a Bonne Maman advent calendar, despite not ever using jam.
Also, running surely was no use. Everyone looked at those horses and knew immediately whose horses they were. If it's not recorded, it's because no one snitched.
I dreamed that something bad happened to a coworker I don't interact with often and I called him to offer condolences. Halfway through the call I forgot who he was and panicked over "why am I on the phone with a stranger and what am I supposed to say and why does it sound like he's crying?"

TIL that Dashiell Hammett taught a detective-story writing class at the Communist Party Workers’ School in New York, and I now have a new answer to, “if you could go anywhere in time, where would you go?”
Trying to think of signature small talk that could save a life!
Remembering the time I went to a reading, and the author described a time he almost committed suicide because he dreaded going to book events so much. The event was small so I felt like it would be terribly noticeable if I ran out the back, but by asking him to sign I was literally killing him.
Now here's a real conspiracy theory: NYRB promotes that book specifically to encourage online discourse about how all books are about adulterous professors. 😈
Even assuming that it was that easy, that this could happen... In this theoretical scenario, why did NYRB pick that book? Some human still would have made that selection from the backlist, either out of personal love or popularity. It's a circular argument.
Further proof that the squirrels drag food from all around the neighborhood to eat directly in front of the cat's favorite window.
It's not full-sized but it has the Luanne .
I started Master and Commander, which has the same narrator. Until I get used to it, it will bother me that Aubrey is Laurence from Temeraire but is also a goof when Laurence does NOT goof.
How are students at UT feeling about the new president? Let's check:
I have heard estimates of the Austin No Kings size between 10k-50k. It was hard to estimate because there were weirdly two sites and people walked between them at their own pace. Also, it was hot AF so people found trees and buildings on the edges so aerial photos are useless.
Here's a gift link to the New York Times' coverage of the initial Tea Party rallies in April 2009 which inspired the media to treat it like a massive movement.

Check out how tiny the crowds were:

Philly: 200
DC: "several hundred"
Boston: 500
Austin: 1,000
Houston: 2,000
