It wasn't great for my boy Dar, Dar's Dad died before he was born, Dar's mother died when he was just old enough to remember a few things she told him. He got enrolled as a gladiator from a young age and was enrolled in Gladiator school in Ul'dah as an orphan, the perks were he did learn how to read

I'm in pain from drawing scales so I threw together this quick tutorial in case someone else was in the same boat. 🥲 Guidelines can help you keep your scales organized!

Tutorial for drawing scales on a creature leg, using a photo of Mizutsune as reference. Step 1: Start with cleaned lineart. Step 2: stencil in guidelines for the rows of scales in a different color. Step 3: Draw lines perpendicular to the guidelines, spacing them roughly the same distance apart. Keep in mind the curvature of the body. Step 4: Finish drawing the pointed edges of the first row of scales. Step 5: Using the corners from the first row of scales, draw more parallel lines to start the next row of scales. Step 6: Add extra line weight to visually separate the rows of scales.
