They've had lead after two games once. Jay Buhner hit a homer in like the 11th inning against the Guardians in 1995, and 12-year-old Chris Crawford was pretty damn sure they were going to the World Series.

Didn't win another game.

There have been so many "first time since" moments in 2025, but the Mariners have NEVER won a third game in an ALCS before. And now they get three games in a row at home, with three really good pitchers.

To be fair to Hancock, he's making his debut, he hasn't pitched in what, two weeks? And the Blue Jays are good.

To be accurate, he was terrible. But it worked out.
