"Need" is not "weakness."

That voice telling you it is, is just trauma f*cking with you.
I'm still mad about a neuropsych test I had years ago. Results made me sound unintelligent & incompetent. I did really well in college & find ways to overcome obstacles nonstop.
If presuming competence is applied without nuance & without adopting a neuro-affirming approach, it becomes a harmful ableist assumption.

Most of them. 🤣 I slept through my noon med time. I needed the sleep though.
Whatever helps. I don't use it, but my son does. It helps him tremendously.

“When #SleepApnea is untreated, an individual has a 2.5 times increased risk of having a motor vehicle accident,” says Rush sleep medicine expert James Rowley, MD, in @everydayhealth.bsky.social. “It’s the equivalent of driving drunk.”
Sleep Apnea Symptoms to Watch Out For
Some of the most common symptoms of sleep apnea happen while you're asleep. So keep an eye out and an ear open for your sleep partner, too.

Mornings can be rough for trauma survivors, especially if we struggle w/ sleep. They often lead us into work days where our nervous system expects to feel trapped, controlled, &/or in trouble.

Crafting a recovery supporting morning routine can be an underrated recovery priority.

“Feelings are just visitors. Let them come and go.” Mooji

You can heal and still feel sad. Healing doesn’t mean the feelings disappear; it means you’re learning to live alongside them.

Indoor/outdoor timers for lamps, holiday lights, etc. are so helpful. Smart bulbs are also extremely helpful. Not only does they help if you leave a light on, but you can change the color of the light & brightness. I have noticed certain light colors help reduce my migraines, POTS symptoms, etc.

Leave a 👖 in the comments if putting on pants without pain feels like a magic trick. #DisabilityAwareness
I've created my own lists for this reason. Trying to protect my peace.

CPTSD survivors w/ a history of being gaslit & coerced need to be very intentional w/ how we consume & engage on social media. Influencers & algorithms are not "neutral," & often don't value our emotional or intellectual autonomy.

Notice how you feel & focus as you scroll.
LUXE bidets & Bottom Buddy (if traveling or don't want to mess with bidet hookup) are game changers if you're heavy, have back pain, frozen shoulder, etc. These are both life-changing. I have scoliosis, Bursitis in my shoulders, & DDD. Long handled loofah for the shower.
The Bearable app is pretty useful, I just keep forgetting to use it. There are ways to connect it to other apps. I use a Fitbit to monitor sleep & heart rate. And the app to log my food to keep track of sodium for POTS. I tend to do better with 3000-5000mg sodium. Everyone's different though.
My mom always made the same paste for cleaning. I need to get a long handled brush like that. Thanks for the reminder.
Keep trying until the right one/combo. Injectables can take months for relief. That's why Nurtec, Ubrelvy, Qulipta, etc. are helpful. I am allergic to mint, so Nurtec was a no go. It's fast acting, so it can be really helpful. And dissolves if you have dysphagia or nausea.
CGRP meds for migraines are amazing. Ajovy, Emgality, Nurtec, & Ubrelvy have all been beneficial. The best is a combo of pill form for migraines as they come & injection for maintenance. They have cut my migraine duration & frequency more than half. You can take ibuprofen, Tylenol, Excedrin with it.
Vitassium without flavoring is really helpful for days I can't eat much but need to keep POTS in check. I drink Powerade daily, also. I some like LMNT or Liquid IV packets. Avoid these if you can't tolerate artificial sweeteners due to MCAS.
I have a cheap ergonomic computer chair without arms that I use to sit & wash dishes, dust, etc. I have a folder grabber/reacher to help get things off the floor so I don't get dizzy, fall, etc. I'm short, so it helps to get things off shelves, too. Mine have rubber grips. I keep one in the kitchen.
Vitafusion gummies are my go to vitamins. I seem to react to regular vitamins of every brand. I can't take other brands of gummies either. They work fast. I use Vitamin D & Vitamin B12. I feel like trash without them as I have deficiencies. They have multivitamins, but I haven't tried them.
If I'm in a shower without them I'll forget & realize how helpful they are lol.
Shower grab bars are so helpful for getting in & out, balance, dizziness, shaving, etc. When I rinse out my hair I get dizzy, so it helps knowing I won't fall. I had one at each end of the shower vertically & a long one horizontally on the wall.
Vaunn adjustable bathtub safety rail, clamp mount shower grab bar handle. Even if you don't use the tub, it's helpful to hold onto for getting in & out of a tub shower. It's very sturdy. My mom was about 450lbs & used it. It helped me with balance for shaving & drying off.
