somethin that always tickles me, as someone who’s been advocating for clean air in the ways i’ve heard desired—from mutual aid to municipal meetings (screenshots from a few of those below)—for years now, is that the only folks who show up to advocate for systemic change are also the ones masked up.

Most of us who are covid conscious understand that widespread masking is not returning.

But masking in healthcare facilities should be an easy ask.

Getting folks to mask when they’re sick should be an easy ask.

Cleaning the air should be an easy ask.

It’s time we adapt!

Covid is not over.

People are still dying and becoming disabled every day.

We rushed “back to normal” for the economy, not because the threat had passed.

When you wear a mask, you’re not only protecting your health, you’re saying you don’t believe anyone is expendable.

and even if it's not (masking def isnt always easy for me), i think most who understand what it takes to achieve major societal change can say that very few of these actions are "easy" nor comfortable, if not outright stigmatized or dangerous, before they were seen as essential by future historians.
