Claude Code is so bugged and such a bad product

This can give seizures to some

The second they no longer have the best coding model, I'm out
January 10, 2026 at 4:34 PM
To be clear, this wouldn't be possible without my years of software engineering experience

Deep understanding of code has never been more important

That's why I built cosdencode.com

Coding with agents is so much more fun than coding by hand

I thought I would lose the love I had for programming by letting AI do the writing for me

But it turns out, the opposite happened. Watching Opus 4.5 cook is so satisfying
January 9, 2026 at 4:02 PM
This wouldn't be possible without my deep understanding of code and using it to direct the agent

If you want to deepen your React fundamentals, checkout cosdencode.com

I used a plan md file with multiple phases and this was one phase

I had another agent look through the code base and create the plan first
January 9, 2026 at 11:01 AM
Broke my record, 122 files changed with Opus 4.5 in one prompt
January 9, 2026 at 11:01 AM
To be clear, this is only possible because I have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of software engineering and years of experience

That's the only way that you can actually use these AI agents effectively

If you want to improve your understanding of code, check out cosdencode.com

Claude did this while I was writing

21 files changed is not that much from one prompt anymore
January 8, 2026 at 4:00 PM
Honestly, even if AI models did not improve anymore we'd be good

We can already do so much with them it's insane

But they will improve, and will make a couple of really big leaps this year, which is even crazier

Exciting times ahead

Knowing how to code is a superpower

Only by understanding the code can you actually use AI agents effectively

If you vibe code, you will vibe yourself into a wall

So glad I have those years of experience already

Huge milestone for me

The days of easy tech jobs by just knowing basic JS are over

What was once considered the whole skill, is now only the starting point

If you want to succeed, you need to adapt

Learn your fundamentals, understand deeply, and then go learn and use AI
January 6, 2026 at 10:57 AM
Here's the real insight though

Fundamentals become MORE important with AI, not less

When you have AI generating code, you need solid foundational knowledge to evaluate whether it's actually good

If you don't, you'll accept garbage code and mess up your apps
January 6, 2026 at 10:57 AM
Learning AI means:

- Understanding what AI can and can't do
- Prompting techniques that actually generate working code
- Using AI for speed and productivity, not as a crutch
- Code review skills (you're reviewing AI output constantly)
January 6, 2026 at 10:57 AM
Learning the code fundamentally means understanding:

- HTML, CSS, JavaScript basics
- React fundamentals (hooks, state, reconciliation)
- Design patterns that actually work
- How to think about architecture

This isn't optional. This is your foundation
January 6, 2026 at 10:57 AM
Learning to code is equally as important as learning how to use AI

Holding on to the past of coding by hand won't get you anywhere

Vibe coding without knowing what you're doing won't either

Here's how I think about React devs in 2026 ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป

You need to know exactly what to prompt for and you also need to be able to review the code

As great as Opus 4.5 is, it WILL make mistakes

Your understanding of code is what will allow you to catch those mistakes and steer it in the right direction
January 5, 2026 at 3:56 PM
However, even though I've been using AI to write the code for me, I would not be able to do this without fundamental understanding of the code

This has shown me just how important it is to know your fundamentals before you go with AI

Learning to code has never been more important
January 5, 2026 at 3:56 PM
With Opus 4.5, this changed. It's much better at writing the code and I'm honestly quite impressed

What also helps is having a clear agents file and good quality established patterns in the code

Combine that with better and more precise prompting, and Opus can just cook
January 5, 2026 at 3:56 PM
The thing holding back the most was the quality of the code

When I used AI in the past, it never generated code as good as I could

I would spend a lot of time reviewing the code and ultimately realized that it would often be faster for me to simply write it myself
January 5, 2026 at 3:56 PM
I finally bit the bullet and went all in on AI development

I was resisting it due to fear but over the holiday break I snapped out of it

Got Claude Max and have been prompting like crazy these past few days

I did not write a single line of code myself

Welcome to 2026
