I fucking hate United forcing me to watch mandatory advertisements on their already bottom tier flights. You can’t even mute it or turn the screen off. It plays over the loudspeakers

This story doesn’t in any way indicate that Signal is broken. This was a big signal group with open membership. Reading between the lines of the story this was 99% chance a snitch or undercover agent or cellebrite (1% chance someone’s phone got compromised)

Saw a video where a woman was at a bar watching the NYC election and after Mamdani won someone asked if she wanted pizza. Someone had just bought community pizza for the bar.

"Is this socialism" she asked.

here is my story about how Zohran's focus on community amid the loneliness epidemic helped young people connect their politics to an organizing infrastructure, that interviewed ZM, and does not use the NYT's framing of "they don't know how to make friends" :-) and also ran 4 days before NYT's lol

“What Mamdani has done is not only inspire and mobilize young people, but he has exposed the establishment and some of their calcified views of participation and inclusion.”

New from 404 Media: CBP has quietly launched a facial recognition app for local cops to do immigration enforcement. Scans their face, tells cops whether to contact ICE about this person or not. A truly rapid expansion of ICE's facial recognition app to local cops
