I accept that the world is full of bad practices and shit that sucks. I get that nothing is moral under capitalism. etc. but I can only really deal with one at once:
- Evil monetization practices
- Messiness and bad writing
- Underlying misogyny and bigotry

Wild to see a pokemon game not made by game freak introduce what appear to be evolutions and new pokemon?
I kind of hope they keep it up if only so the game freak teams aren't so reliant on their own games to keep the plushes and tcg and shit going stronh

People have this strange idea that you can just throw money at a video game being bad and it'll become good. That's not how it works; you can't just pay people and spin up a AAA studio from nowhere.

I think a lot of people miss that having ideas is like 10 percent of good game design.
And the rest is being good at understanding playtest feedback and responding to it effectively.

As someone with adhd that is often caught in the "power washing" video spiral - I think the reason power washing simulator never grabbed me is litterally just cause, it doesn't actually simulate the dirt.

If you're willing to be a bit of a game designer, you can do anything. But you have to remember that some players need that handhold.
