Fighting for democracy, obsessively reading & walking. Brooklyn forever. #FreeTheVoteNY
The eleventh minute of the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month the guns went silent.

Millions died or were displaced only to have it happen again a generation later.

We still need to learn war is not the solution.

We can break car culture in this city—look at this breakdown of the Mayor’s race. There are more of us (people using public transit as their main method of getting around) than them (car folks):

The B41 is generally atrocious during the day (extremely slow, as demonstrated in this story) AND at night (you have to wait forever for a bus, then 3 appear at once). These are both fixable problems, so let’s fix them!

As @cmgreer.bsky.social says, Cuomo “reeks of yesterday.” (and, the guy doesn’t actually want to be mayor! he just wants a redemption arc…)

Sounds good—if 2M people leave NYC, that will free up housing & we will get millions more in congestion pricing.

Think they will never come to NYC again? fugeddaboutit

Hey New York, today is “Golden Day,” the last day of voter registration AND the 1st day of Early Voting, so if anyone you know who is eligible to vote in this state, but not registered, TODAY IS THE DAY for them to go to their poll site & VOTE!

Proof he doesn’t actually live in NYC— Cuomo just called them “county” jails (we say “Borough” here, buddy).

RIKERS ISLAND IS A TOXIC WASTE DUMP—no one should be there!

And, if we scrap the Borough-based jails, it will cost billions to turn them into affordable housing (& I literally can the Brooklyn jail going up from my window, so it is already being built, dude).

Stop saying the subway is scary!! Literally millions of people ride the subway every day. If you are too scared to ride the subway, you should not be Mayor! #NYCMayoralDebate

Cuomo sounds so petulant in this debate—he’s obviously pissed that he is losing to someone who is a generation younger & named Zohran… #NYCMayoralDebate
October 22, 2025 at 11:45 PM
No to member deference, Sliwa! That’s one of the problems we’ve had in actually building housing, jeez Louise (& I cannot believe Cuomo & I agree on something , haha) #NYCMayoralDebate

OMG, when will Sliwa & Cuomo learn rent stabilization is NOT rent control & is NOT subsidized (they need to ask who is getting the payout, sigh), the rent increases are limited by the Rent Guidelines Board. #NYCMayoralDebate

This truly is T2 in a nutshell:
1. The administration pretending something is not happening even though there is photographic evidence.
2. This entire farce of ballroom construction happened with no oversight & is paid for by corrupt oligarchs.
3. He’s literally destroying the people’s house.
The White House is asking people not to share pictures of the East Wing because it’s even worse today.

There are a lot of laugh out loud moments in this #NYCMayoralDebate - Sliwa’s zingers against Cuomo, Zohran correcting Sliwa’s mispronunciation of his name, Cuomo’s delusion about himself, and some of the moderators’ follow ups (“are you saying your shortcoming is social media?”)
October 17, 2025 at 12:25 AM
I do not believe Andrew Cuomo buys his own groceries (or ever has). I wish the moderators had asked him about specific items & how much they cost (both Sliwa & Zohran mentioned specific costs).

Cuomo is lying & Sliwa is delusional if he thinks there is any negotiating with Trump (& WTF was that about we don’t need a train or money for the subway??).

This debate is exhausting & it’s only 20 minutes in…
