finally spending like 30 min. skateboarding my new setup (incl. new shoes), just around my empty garage. talk about focusing on control... bro if you blow a modicum of control you're gonna dent your garage door, AND *the neighbors will know*! oh and also, relax; nobody's ever skated well tense

because largely, academic studies on mis- and dis-info *still* continue to make the same fatal mistake; assuming that folks don't want to live in ignorance.

what is the penalty for choosing to propagate misinformation? nothing! and the reward? i guess all the way up to a presidency, sometimes
much of the work on AI-generated misinformation focuses on regular users/communities, while ignoring how political and economic elites can seal themselves into a hermetic slop box -- a repeat of the same mistake we made with radicalization and conspiracism in the previous decade
oh this is absolutely what i think. i think they feed him fake polls and outright AI slop

yup, the "visionaries" behind hundreds of billions in hoarded big tech wealth are so imaginative that they're simply lining up behind an octogenarian and co. running the Hitler playbook. The myth of meritocracy is so laughably over that the mere word itself is harder than ever to mash out
The wealthy have stolen so much wealth and rigged the system so far that our economy is on the verge of collapse. They’re pushing fascism and dismantling democracy to get at what little remains.

We don’t have to live like this. We deserve better.

To add insult to injury, these tech companies and their web domain monopolies don't have competition forcing a decent user interface anymore, so, you can just relearn every app every year or two. and the way you use the apps is how you're training your robot replacement, against your will. thank you
November 26, 2025 at 2:52 PM
yes, because probabilistic next-word guessing machines do not possess understanding
Cutting-edge research shows language is not the same as intelligence. The entire AI bubble is built on ignoring it.

I think I'm going to form like an atomic coalition at work so if we do wind up detonating any nuclear bombs some independent physicists make damn sure we're only blowing up the yields we claim to be

it's like 💄BREAKING
"...at least one dem congressional member has repeated the single best talking point response from possibly an online social media source..."

and it is, this is huge! we could really have something here. some messaging!! this guy's in leadership right??
RIGHHTTTT?????
Crow: "It just tells us everything that we need to know that reminding people to obey the law, reminding people to obey the Constitution, is somehow criminal in Trumpworld and should be responded to with death threats. It's very, very telling."
November 21, 2025 at 7:26 AM
I get the play, Ro, but we're just back to the same old stalemate if the Trump white house violates the congressional subpoena, or congress's contempt, whatever, it doesn't matter; this executive will never enforce the law against itself. And duh, the malignancy will only grow, as ya do, m'aligned
November 20, 2025 at 7:44 AM
if trump sends out $2k per person next year for tariffs (first of all; he won't), i hope he mandates that the money is to be in the form of 2,000 of the new Trump $1 coins they're working on. If those things are even just the weight of a quarter, that's 11 pounds of Trump coins, for one and all!

it's this. It's this, especially when paired with all the bullshit everywhere, for years, about "big Woke" snuffing out our free speech. Now? Silence
For me it's the way the press pool just quietly went along with it because he's the president

The entire point of this country is that we don't have to let some guy do whatever he wants just because of his title. We don't have to respect him or go along with him just because he holds an office
I don't know why the "Piggy" thing is bothering me so much. It's one more unforgivable thing in a list of 20,000 unforgivable things, but I've been mad about it for like 12 straight hours.
November 19, 2025 at 5:15 AM
this is what pisses me off. A gaggle of reporters with apparently zero respect for each other. And then he went off on the ABC (again, woman) reporter next to MBS in the white house today. No pushback. Fucking tell this guy he's a piece of shit to his face! He is begging you
I’ve been thinking and it’s kind of exceptional that not a single person said “Hey now” after the piggy comment.

ICE's harassment of LA continues, unreported. normalized
ICE has been raiding my neighborhood and surrounding ones for the last couple of weeks now. They commandeered my local church (against the pastor's will) for a staging site and raided supermarkets, parks, Goodwills, bus stops, you name it.

The national media's been silent. So has @mayor.lacity.gov.
Engagement on our updates re: ICE kidnappings/fed siege of Los Angeles is significantly lower on Bluesky compared to Twitter. Do ppl on here not care about LA anymore? Are feeds being taken over by liberal commentators? What's going on?

Community members on the ground can't do it all. We need help.

oh cool, looks like reporter intimidation operations were already underway at the FBI a year ago, months before Trump
Last Thanksgiving, two Dallas Police officers knocked on my door, citing a tip from the FBI national threat operations center that I was beating my girlfriend. The incident report confirms this. Today, I obtained a file from the FBI via FOIA that states the FBI has no record of receiving such a tip.

pretty surreal watching folks celebrate the release of the Epstein files before the files are 1. actually released by DoJ and 2. verified to be in good condition, i.e. sufficient in volume and not redacted to oblivion

damn, we just caught the edge of the most recent sun-ejected plasma and it's not favorable for aurora
November 16, 2025 at 5:48 AM
cannot overstate this. There is vanishingly little national discourse of consequence
Whether it's garbage NYT left-bait or right wing flood-the-zone nonsense that we all pile on to, we are letting the wrong people set our overall information agenda in a very deep and fundamental way. And it's a very serious mistake.
November 14, 2025 at 9:28 PM
the aurorae tonight (12th) are going to be... really something, about half a day from now

Another big solar pukeball is coming soon

we're supposed to believe that 8 of the least-vulnerable senate dems (retiring or re-election not 'til '28) form up the 8 votes needed to pass the bill?

Yeah fucking right. To large degree, surely the caucus acted together, and Schumer coordinated. They love him as the hated leader. What a sad day.

the words "sustainable abundance" appear in the cybertruck font behind Elon Musk as he gives his acceptance speech for the $1 trillion Tesla pay package.

How do you think Ezra Klein feels about the brand association? He's probably *actually* flattered.

We're doomed, but damn... the content, tho

my company is working on 3FA (ass-clenching in Morse w/ anal probe) and we are interested in serving as one of your n's
Tired: two-factor authentication

Wired: n+1-factor authentication, where successfully authenticating on a new device just allows you to log in again, triggering another authentication request. Repeat ad infinitum

I am THRILLED to learn that this photograph, taken yesterday inside of the White House's Oval Office Room, has just WON USA PHOTO OF THE YEAR!!

Can you believe it, folks?? Congratulations, Donald! 📣
