My favorite part about Plarail is how you can basically buy track by the kilogram at secondhand shops, when mom was gone we built a mega track across the entire house, it was insane. Never pulling that kind of nonsense with Lionel

OH SHIT this month's Japan McDonald's Happy Meal toys are Plarail trains, and one of them is mothafuckin 🟡 DR. YELLOW 🟡 the Shinkansen diagnostic train

Also the decal sheet for this is a nightmare. Super skinny stickers and impossible to reaffix once contact is made

That is super interesting. I believe the opinion of most publishers is that they don't want to get involved in the legal ramifications, and they are also frightened that using fan translations acknowledges/legitimizes them, since the legal department is screaming "THIS IS ILLEGAL!" (it's not ofc)

Yeah, it's one of the few survivors from the 80s, it was a SF2 hub for decades.

Not sure about the game center across from Loft. The only Umeda haunts I know left are Monte 50 and Royal (still my favorite). Kasuga in Nihonbashi is also still good and well maintained but a bit touristy!

AW YISS I finally cleared normal mode on TGM 2 like the rank amateur I am, playing at Monte 50 in Osaka whose classic collection seems to degrade with every time I visit. Pretty sure machines that are 50 yen a play are not paying for their own maintenance. (Also there's a Neo Turf Masters!)
